I am in the same spot... Just bought a base 13" MBA and an early 2011 13" MBP that was on clearance at Best Bizzle... Both cost my $1200 roughly. Most of my work will be done in Eclipse and on a bootcamp partition for Win7 and Visual Studio 2010 for my .NET development... I am torn between the real estate the Air gives me over the MBP, but not entirely sure it is worth the lack of upgradability i get with MBA. Hard Drive really isnt an issue since most of my music will stream from my iMac. For me it was the amount of code I could see at one time on the screen. If you suggest that the upcoming refresh will perhaps at least get to 1366 x 768 minimum, I could be sold on returning each and waiting a couple of months... but how irritated would I be if not much changed...
I'm back in the market for a 13 inch machine as my wife has 'borrowed' my Macbook Pro 13 2009 model and she won't give it back. But as others say the screen res hasn't changed on the new models, which surprises me - the screen is the only weak part of the older model for me.
I don't really want the Air as I prefer a sturdier build. I can wait a few weeks but is there much hope for a better screen in the next refresh?
