Hi

am trying to change to a iPod Touch about 7 years old.

On my old iPod nano I added the songs through iTunes
then on the iPod nano I selected Menu and then songs and the songs were
listed alphabetically and played in that order.

I cannot work out how to get the same result on the Touch.

The songs are listed variably by title and album and I cannot work out how to
list and play JUST alphabetically.

Any help with this appreciated.

Regards

Daniel

Which generation iPod touch do you have?

All versions of the iOS Music app through iOS 6 had a "Songs" tab on the bottom of the screen, and they should be listed alphabetically there. If you don't see the "Songs" tab, select "More" and add it to the menu bar with that.

Hope that helps!

Hi

thanks for your reply, there is no Songs tab, there is a Music tab but
it does not bring up a list of songs, just an ad for Apple music.

Cheers

What version of iOS are you running? Must be a 5th gen or newer iPod touch (running 8.4 or later)?

If you go to the "Library" tab and then "Songs" does that show the list of songs by artist? On iOS 13 at least, there is a "Sort" button at the top that lets you select the sorting method. You can change it to "Title" to get the songs alphabetically. See my attached image for an example.
