In iTunes I sort by genre (I have to due to the many different genres I own). However, this screws me up when I have an album that has different composers, because the songs from the same album are never grouped together. Is there a secondary level of sorting you can apply to the songs that will sort them by genre first, then by album?

I've tried Highlighting the song, Right Clicking, and Apply Sort Field "Same Album", but this has no effect.

Any advice appreciated.

No, there is no secondary sort option that you can choose in iTunes. For albums to sort together, they must have identical data in the following fields:
  • Album
  • Sort Album
  • Album Artist
  • Sort Album Artist
Even with those fields matching, if you sort by other criteria, the album may not sort together. For example, if I have a "Best of" album that includes songs that were originally released in various years, I change the year of each song to match its original release date, not the date that the "Best of" album was released. If I sort by year, the album will not sort together.
