Sorting Photos in PHOTO app

I opened PHOTOS and it converted my IPHOTO library OK but all the photos are in random order. How can I SORT them by date?

Yeah it seems the events feature has been taken out from iPhoto. Terrible move, that was a great way of sorting photos.

There has to be a way to sort photos...by date, filename, rating? It can't just be random!

i made a smart album for EVERYTHING (but minus my work photos), and in that album, unchecked 'sort by name'.

of course, a smart album can follow all sorts of rules...

NOT by a RULE. Just a command. Wasn't there a sort feature in iPhoto?

Doing this does not update the new smart album.

For instance take a picture right now and it will only appear in the Photo Stream and All photos album....it does not appear in the new smart album?

Am i missing something here?

If you show the sidebar, it has the events in there

what rules did you set up? mine is simply "Date is after 1/1/2004"...and new photos (ie from my phone) show up there.

remember that the sync with icloud can take some time...
