Sound Issue with MBA

Hi guys,
I have the late 2009 model of Macbook Air.
My issue is the sound; sound only works when my earphones are plugged in.
Has anybody else experienced and similar issues? And is there a way for me to fix this? Or will it be an Apple Store job?
