sound not working?

for some reason, my sound is not working today.

i hear the little sounds when i mute/unmute, or increase or decrease the volume.. but other sounds are not working.. such as IMs, music on websites, etc. anyone know what could be wrong?

anyone at all? all the normal sounds work.. empty trash, volume check, etc. but no sounds from like webpages or anything.

any advice?

it worked! what is the deal with that? does it do that often?

Just a weird bug and that's the fix. AFAIK, it doesn't happen often at all.
I'm sure there's details about it if you google for it.
