Sound on ipad

I have no sound on YouTube of facebook video links my sound works fine on Siri

Do you by any chance have the iPad muted through either the switch on the side of the iPad or through the icons that you slide up from the bottom of the screen(not sure of their official name)? I've had a similar problem several times & that has always been the culprit.
