I'm just curious to see if there are many people out there like me..

I'm a student, so when I'm in class, my phone is on vibrate, obviously.

99% of the time, my phone is with me, so I can feel it vibrate when it needs my attention. When i'm sleeping, I don't turn the sound up, cuz I kinda have this 'policy' that no phonecall/text should disturb my sleep lol, so basically I never change it from vibrate.

It's also a plus since i don't have to hunt for new ringtones every couple weeks :D

    How about you guys?

I would assume most people put it on silent in situation that call for it. :p Although I forget too often...

I keep it loud often, I like my ringtone. ;) Also I don't tend to notice the vibrate.

If the vibrate was more noticeable I'd use it all the time.

Seconded! Although this has been an issue for pretty much every phone I have come across.

I use sound and vibrate at the same time. And then I just go totally silent (no notifications) when it's time for peace.

I must be really stupid! I thought that phones were designed (years ago) with the vibrate function to allow the quiet mode when you don't want to disturb people around you, such as work or maybe a classroom. I have used this function with my previous 8 phones. I didn't realize this is something new with the iP4. Thank you for starting this thread and the poll. Very enlightening.

Same here. I rarely feel the vibrate when it is in my pocket, so I use the ringer most of the time.

This isn't iPhone 4 specific. The poll is a general survey of how forum members set their phones to alert them.

Vibrate at school, loud the rest of the time. I usually don't notice the vibrate somehow so when I occasionally have it on (by accident) when I'm out and about, I miss calls
