Hi, I have a M2 Mac mini 2023 (8GB, 256GB SSD). I noticed that there is no problem if I use its internal speaker. However, the sound is interrupted every 2-3 seconds if I set the TV's speaker as the output. It does not matter whether it is direct connection to the TV from the Mini via the HDMI port or via a Thunderbolt to HDMI adapter. Anybody else has this problem? Is this a software or hardware bug?

I can hear a pause in sound every 2 seconds in the following video:

No issues playing sound on tv speaker, soundbar (SPDIF) or internal speaker. MM M2 Pro 16 GB, 1 TB.

Thanks for sharing this video again! 😂😂

Edit: the only "problem" with sound I have is when I wake up the Mac mini and start music or tv then it takes up to 10 seconds before the sound bar starts playing but the reason could well be the el-cheapo SPDIF connector

Thanks for checking. I am not sure if this is related to the slower SSD.

Yep having the same issue here. I have the same base model Mac mini.

I would think that the speed of the ssd should be fast enough, no?!

I wonder if the M2 chip has a bug. Need inputs from other base model users.

Actually my problem is different from yours. When the people are talking in the videos I watch, they sounded muffled. It happened intermittently. It does matter if it’s a video I downloaded, streaming on hbo max or a YouTube video.

Just tested on a M2 Pro Mini, no audio issue like the one I reported. So either M2 Mini have audio issue or I got a lemon.

Tested it on a MacBook Air 15" 2023 base model. Also no such audio issue. So what is wrong with the M2 Mini base model?
