One of the last to have mobile boarding passes, the last to allow small electronic devices throughout flights.

Just got the email today from Southwest that it's wifi from gate to gate now. No more shutting down your portable electronic devices.

On Southwest: Bag 1: $0. Bag 2: $0. Change fee: $0.

Doesn't affect many people, but pet fees are $50 less as well. That's $150 savings. If I'm flying with my cat, which is usually the case, I don't even bother to look at other airline deals.

Pay more for a subpar customer experience on mobile devices and get obnoxious, corny schtick from flight attendants while on board? No thanks.

I've only experience their "corny schtick" once, and that was a few years ago. They don't seem to be doing it anymore.

Great! On my last flight they said they submitted all the paperwork but we're waiting approval from the FAA.

Do their mobile boarding passes use Passbook?

It looks like Southwest's mobile boarding pass (which is only available when flying out certain airports) does not use Passbook, and it simply asks you to save a screenshot of the boarding pass to your camera roll.

This is pretty rough. I can't imagine why they are doing this.
