I have had the original Apple Milanese loop band since launch day and I love it more than any other band I have tried on. It is comfortable and feels like good solid construction.

I just bought the space black milanese loop and the quality is absolutely horrible. Not only does it feel more flimsy, but the material feels much cheaper as well. I had bought a third party space black band a couple of months ago, and it feels almost identical to that. Plus it smudged almost immediately after pulling it out of the box.

Anyone else have thoughts on this? Am I alone here?

This scares me. I started with a Sport Band, then bought a couple aftermarket link bracelets (both cheap), and then splurged on the Apple Space Black Link Bracelet. Amazing quality and I'm very happy, other than the ridiculous cost.

Earlier this week I ordered the Space Black Milanese Loop thinking the quality would match my link bracelet. It will arrive tomorrow and if it's as you describe it is going right back to Apple. I hope not!

I thought it was potentially just mine, maybe a manufacturing flaw, but my friend ordered it as well and it felt exactly the same. Super cheap feeling. Cant believe its 50 bucks more.

It should be the exact same weight as the SS one

Maybe you are feeling a difference from a more metal feeling to the feeling of the DLC coating?

My SB Milanese is not smudging either.

It's more expensive because of the DLC coating

That could be it! The black link bracelet feels super silky smooth and hardly feels like your holding metal but it feels great in the hand.

I literally thought I was the only one that didnt like it.

I received mine on Wednesday, and returned it yesterday. I didnt like the look of it at all on the space black SS and couldnt justify $200 on it when there are a bunch of better bands out there

I don't agree at all, I have the stainless milanese and now space black, and they feel the same. I'm holding one in each hand right now. I suppose space black has the texture of a coating, but the weight is the same and the feel on the wrist is the same. Maybe your SS is just worn a bit so it feels different? My default band is a sport, so my milanese is like new.

I would imagine they would feel about the same, because they're the same material. It's just the official black loop is DLC coated.

I have a 3rd party Space Black ML band I bought on Amazon for C$50. It is not as nice as my wife's real Apple Stainless ML but it is certainly more than adequate. Looks fine, feels good and gets the job done. Quite happy versus paying C$280 for an Apple SB ML.

i don't have the SB and i'm not interested in another watch right now, so i won't be buying one anyway.

but i did notice it was quite... see through, in the display at the apple store. more so than my ML. perhaps the colour creates that illusion, though.
