Space Gray Finish Rubbing Off?

I've been using the Invellop case, but I just ordered the Body Glove Rise case since the Invellop was showing some wear (some deep scratches were showing up on the back), but I tended to mostly use the case when I went to the gym and tried to go careless but my OCD is trying to have me keep the phone perfect haha. If Speck would have made the PixelSkin HD, I would have had it on the phone since day one. The finish is coming off the aluminum, not the antenna band. It's almost making me miss my iPhone 4 since that was one of the best designs IMHO.

I think sliding it in and out of tight jeans will wear out the anodizing quicker.

Any wear in the same place over and over will wear off the anodized finish.

If you take your grey phone and hold it against a piece of paper on a table and pull it across the paper on it's edge, it leaves a grey mark. That is your anodized finish!

I don't see the big deal about wear. Gives the phone character.

Too bad the phone is too delicate to use without a case.

I used my 5s without a case. It did great until I tripped running up some steps and skipped it across the concrete. The screen was still flawless but the chamfered edges were chewed to hell.

I'm basically an OCD kind of person too, but I use a case and glass screen cover 100% of the time on my 5s, so consequently don't have any wear issues. However, I don't think I would be over-concerned if I did as I would have a case on it all the time and it wouldn't show. Put a new case on if the old one gets scratched and looks new again. Anyway, that's what I think I would do.

I exchanged my first 6 for a dead pixel and it had a small mark on the back similar to what you posted.
