Apple messed up royally with this release and it's going to leave a bad taste in a lot of people's mouths. These a very expensive products

Meh. Agree to a certain extent. But $350-$1100 for a watch really isn't that much. The difference is these will have a shorter shelf life than say a Citizen Eco Drive which has many models in the same price range.

I knew what I was getting into because I didn't order my first watch until April 21 and I was disappointed even as I was submitting the order. The talk of having stock in stores in June is crazy. If someone can waltz into any Apple store and get the same watch that someone who pre-ordered hasn't received Apple will take a major PR hit. The boutique stores are bad enough. They should have limited those stores to the Edition model which actually fits better with their clientele.

I got charged today and already updated from preparing for delivery to SHIPPED with a delivery date for TOMORROW 5/15/15!!!! :eek:

I may not be able to control my EXCITEMENT!

I've been pretty level headed this whole time knowing that I ordered late (the 19th). Although I've been obsessively reading forums & constantly reloading my email, I've come to terms that June more then likely means June.
But if I waited THIS long to at the last minute get pushed back to mid July I'll be seriously pissed. Especially since there's word that they will be available in stores in June.

The question is, what can really be done about it?

I cancelled $750 plus worth of orders. I was hoping to see some reasonable improvement. Instead Apple appears to be doing nothing to get caught up. If they do stock stores by June maybe I'll revisit. As it stands now, I have a better chance at getting a watch in an Apple Store or a refurb. See what happens with gen 2. Bad tast in my mouth for sure.

we got 5 planes inbound today, probably going to land within the next 1.5hours i think my 42mm order at 12:10PM PST 4/10 will ship by next weekend.... i hope :(

Has Apple announced they are going to have the watch in stores in June? The only thing I heard is Tim Cook saying they were planning to ship to more countries at the end of June. Hopefully, that means all preorders will have been fulfilled by then, but I assume it also means sales will continue to be online only. The one Apple store employee I talked to said he thought it would be a long while before they had watches in stock and then it might only be the sports models (but he was just speculating).

38mm are less in demand so the order and delivery process seems to be, from what I've read, more "normal".

I ordered a 42mm a mere 2 hours after preorders began and my delivery promise is 5/29-6/11, slightly improved from "June" at the time I ordered. I would begin to feel this is a botched launch if I started seeing the watch I ordered available for pickup in the Apple Store before mine comes in the mail. I'm sure anyone who ordered before 4/24 might feel the same way. Also I ordered in the Apple Store app on my iPhone and didn't see the option to add Applecare to my order. I called Apple later and they said I must do it after my watch arrives. Really? I can't simply handle that now and have it done with? So the jury is out on whether I consider this a botched launch but it has not been that smooth for me so far. By contrast, I had an iPad in my hands on launch day 15 minutes after the Apple store opened.
 
I was charged overnight. Do you think it will deliver Monday/Tuesday then? If they do Saturday delivery, I need to keep the address to my home address. If it's next week, I'll need to change it back to my work address.

They use either Fedex or UPS. Either of these offer services to manage packages once they are on the way. You can change the delivery from work to home or vice versa using the Fedex or UPS web site (possibly for a fee).

I would not expect Saturday or even Monday delivery if you don't have a tracking number yet. The best way to predict when your AW will arrive is using the tracking number once it ships.

I've seen some people post in here that once they are charged, they have their watch a few days later and others post that they got charged and it took another few days for the order status to switch from "processing" to "preparing for shipment." Did your order status change yet?
 
Saw a bunch of planes come in last night, Did anyone get charged last night?

If so what size watch did you order?
 
Thanks! Nothing has changed aside from the charge on my card. I will keep the address my work address.

Finally!
Even though it's still ways away in just glad I have a time frame.

I ordered a 42 SG BSB on April 19th.

I ordered 42 SG sport at 3:53 est. Anyone care to give me a guess at what I'm still looking at as far as wait time. I would think we had made it to the ordered placed in the first hour by now. Know it's the most popular but damn.
