I can't decide whether to curse the scalper or laugh at the people willing to pay $1,000+ for a $400 watch.

I think I'll do both.

Just sold a 42mm Space Grey locally on CL for $850...way better than trying on eBay.

It's funny how there are many eBayers selling the Space Gray Sport and noting that it is "Rare" and then asking $800 + for it.

The reason it is rare is that it was the first choice among pre-orderers due to attractive pricing and decent looks. If you're going to pay $800+ for it, you might as well go for the SS version.

What is funnier to me are the people on Ebay listing SG Sports with June delivery dates and attempting to charge similar premiums (reserve not met)...

I wouldn't laugh at rich people tbh. They probably make tonnes of money anyway.

Decided I wanted the silver aluminum so I sold my opened 42mm SG for $975 on eBay. It sold in 2 hours and the buyer paid a minute after it sold. Already shipped and the buyer will have it tomorrow and probably be thrilled.

I have a hard time believing it is only wealthy people buying them.

I never said they were only rich people. But you laughing at them because they don't mind paying a premium is a bit silly. Before you say anything, I'm waiting for my Apple order.

So stupid, no idea why people use eBay for something like this. Ive seen 3 SG 42mm for under $1k on Craigslist out here.

There's a market for it that's why. Like Gumtree, free ads etc. Just because you prefer one market doesn't mean everyone thinks the same.

I happen to think paying $600+ to be an impatient twit is humorous.
