how is the situation after 20 days of use?

in particulare for the space grey color?

are there scuffs or marks?

is it better than the slate iphone 5 or nearly as delicate?

also other colors feedbacks are appreciated :D

curious to hear how this is holding up as well. I would imagine the silver one to be the best for scuffs simply because they blend in more.

I have a slate 5 and the nicks and dings really stand out!

I use mine case less and it's in perfect condition, no scuffs.

I use mine naked. Not a mark. I also used my launch day 5 naked and after a years use it only had two very small marks on the chamfered edge.

24 days now, no case most of the time, in a car holder most days and still pristine.

I've just posted pics in the Space Grey thread that show the condition.

Best way to see how visible scratches would be if they were to happen is to look around the lightning connector area on phones at the Apple store. Those almost always have tons of small scratches. And so, if you do have a scratch on space grey, it will show. The best with respect to scratches showing is the white/silver.

Probably the worst place to check, even on this forum there have been strange people who talk about taking keys, nail files and assorted blades to the display phones to "test" the finish, the display handsets receive abuse that wouldn't be seen on any normal persons phone.

I know that those units go through lots of abuse. In normal use one might get one or two such scratches if that. But if you want to tell how it will look should a scratch happen, then that's a good place to see it.

Here's what mine looks like. Launch day 5s (Sept. 20).

As you can see there is already light wear above the dock connector, and I know that this wasn't like this out of the box. I have Zagg on the back, top, and sides but this lower side is uncovered. I'm gentle with my phone so I don't know how this happened.

Granted, this is only noticeable under certain lighting conditions and when I look closely at it, but it still sucks that it's not even a month old and it's already just beginning to wear. I think it takes $20-$30 off the resale value in a couple years if wear and tear is visible.

I'm debating whether or not to get a case. Any advice from anyone?

Mine is still perfect as well. Naked except for power support front screen.

Also agree with the poster above - had a black 5 since launch day and had one maybe two tiny blemish on the edge. I always dedicate one pocket for the phone only and gently place down when on a hard surface. It's not that hard to take care of a phone

try $1-200

I have scuffs on my space grey 5S bought on launch, I am caseless, and I take care of my phone. my 4S was in great condition when I sold it, and I went caseless there too.

It really, really baffles me why they're using aluminum now. The stainless steel was so much better of a material for something designed to not look like crap after a few months of normal use. By comparison, the aluminum is now all over the phone and may as well be made of butter.

As of right now it still looks good, however. I definitely have edges that already look worn after barely a few weeks if you look close, so it honestly doesn't bode well.

Somehow the glass piece on the bottom back of my phone is scratched, but no the aluminium.
