I did not think you could interpretate what I wrote that way lol. What I actually meant was that Apple changed the look of Space Grey if you compare for example iPhone 5S with 6S.

Ok, sure, maybe. But what does that have to do with it staying the same over time?

That Silver does and Space Grey maybe doesn't. Seemed like a good argument to get Silver as you can be sure it doesn't go out of fasion (until they use a different material).

Using a different material doesn't make the old one go out of fashion. Every Apple product looks great, they are at the top of their game and there's more to making something look classy and Apple-like than the shade of gray. By that logic, every time there's a new design, the old one is out of fashion - and that's not true. The original iPhone, the white iPhone 4, the black iPhone 5, the Space Gray iPhone 5S, 6, 6S, the jet black 7, the gold MacBook, the silver MacBook Pro - they all look beautiful and are very much "Apple" when it comes to looks - because it's not the color that makes them have that classic look, it's the minimalism, the functional look, the timeless materials, etc.

I'm sorry, but I just don't agree. Both colors look great, there are no "arguments" to pick one over the other.

Yeah, very. Personally I prefer darker colours than the lighter for laptops and phones. If they had a darker Magic Mouse that would be good, white mouse looks a little strange next to it, but thats the only thing I would say. As its a laptop if the mouse is out my hand is usually over it so not so much of a big issue
You must be quite happy now. :)

Hey All,

I'm going to replace my 3 year old MacBook Pro and choosing between space grey and silver. Just wondering how everyone is feeling about their choice 6 months down the track? Also to those with the space grey colour, how's the finish holding up with scratches etc?

Thanks!
Oh i love space grey mac computeres. I mean silver is kinda boring. Space grey so great.

Silver, to me looks like all the old MBP models but space gray is stunning and it stands out. Hoping apple would do matte black version like iPhone.
Oh matte black would be great.

I remember when I had the matte macbook back in mid 2000. I regret ebaying that thing.

I've had both. started with the 13' silver, now on the 15' space gray. Love the dark apple on the space gray.

Hi,
Tomorrow I want to buy a touchbar Macbook pro in silver. This is now a discount. Will not I regret it is not space gray? :)

Another vote for space grey. I have a matte BSE Skin over the entire laptop and it looks fantastic!

Like others that are posting, I've owned several Macbooks over the years and picked up a 2016 15 inch in space grey. So far its holding up pretty well (although im using a hard shell case) Much bigger fan of darker colors on most of my Apple products.

After more than a year, my SG MBP looks the same like when I bought it. I’m not sure why people expect otherwise, we had space gray Apple products for years now and they all hold up pretty well.

I like my MacBook Pro in Space Gray, looks great and holds up just as well as the silver. I'd actually be curious if space gray is selling more than the silver, seems to be that the ones I see at public places are typically space gray.

Sorry to bring this back up but I have a question for space gray Macbook Pro users. Is yours discolored after a while? Do you think it's a common problem or only a small percentage?

I haven't noticed any wear and tear issues in store on SG and yes I didn't do like a forensic examination of it but, if I couldn't notice it by normal use, that tells me that SG is more than fine, unlike maybe the iPhone 7 Jet Black edition which was obviously worn out from very little use.

I was just concerned as I read some complains about discoloration on palm rest area and where case was used. But, peoples tend to overreact so. Who knows.

I went for Space Grey because it looks so badass and was new and different. But I'd go for the silver next time to go back to that classic MacBook look. Haven't even seen any of the current MacBooks in original silver with my own eyes yet! That's how popular the other colours are proving to be
