Space Grey

Would be interested to know too as all my MBPs have been silver and hid daily wear and tear well but now planning to get a space grey 2018 MBP.
First I’ve ever heard of space gray wear issues with the MBP.
i have space gray for almost a year. i have very oily hands but the colour is as good as in day one
Mine is two years old and there are no wear problems. There is no coating on the aluminum.
If you’re concerned just wipe it down with a microfiber cloth every few days. I haven’t noticed any issues with mine though I ended up realizing I prefer silver.
Do you have some pics around the ports and the sharp edges on the exterior? Seems the coating is the thinnest around those areas.
Same i'm thinking, because on all the videos on youtube i've seen, all the space gray models have the space gray coating very worn around the ports and can see the silver underneath.
That's why i bought the silver also.
I have a 2016 13" nTB that I've been using daily since I bought it back in early Dec 2016. The sharp edges are still pristine, but there is some wear around one of the USB-C ports. You can clearly tell which port I use more often, and it probably doesn't help that I sometimes plug it in in the dark. I'd imagine if I didn't do that, it wouldn't be as noticeable.
With that being said, it's much less noticeable in person vs. in the photos. You really have to look for it to even see it really.

I wouldn't worry. I can't see any wear in those photos. It looks in great condition to me.
The only thing stopping me buying at the moment is the colour choice. I was in an Apple store today and looked at a space gray and silver 13" MBP side by side. My current MBP is silver and I've had that for 6 years. To me it's a nice colour but I do like space gray too, until I see them side by side at which point it becomes a tough choice! Why don't they do MBP in gold as that would be perfect.

I got the space grey and my wife got the silver MBP 13' 2017. Love the darker color. I wondered why the space grey was more expensive for the mouse and keyboard... Interesting. I've only had my MBP for 2 months so I can't really comment on wear.
I went off topic with my last post. I shouldn't have mentioned colour choice on this thread as it is more useful to keep it about space grey wear.
