F8 is to activate Spaces so you can see them all, not to navigate from one to the other. oh, and ctrl-arrow is a pretty shibby combo since one is on one end of the keyboard and the other on the other end...
either way, i haven't seen a single CS3 user come in and say they use Spaces, which pretty much means it is a no-no for graphics/web work...
i still can't believe you guys maximize your windows...
i mean, as mac users, we have incredibly hi-res monitors and the os works in a way that you don't need to have maximized windows like in MS Windows...
which is something that bugged me during my first switcheroo days but i have come to absolutely adore, combined with expose, cause i can have as many windows on there at just the right size to see all i need and no extra space...
i mean, come on, use Spaces if you have lots and LOTS of apps running,
what's the use in maximizing your app windows, do you just like white space?
(which by the way consumes more electricity to display;) )

I started using Spaces a few weeks after getting my new macbook pro and I normally keep one general space for most stuff, then a separate space for firefox, where I run gmail while at work, then another one for Mail/IM then another one for iCal and the last one for Parallels.

However when I'm busy at work and switch spaces often I find that I get some sort of motion sickness from all the space changes. has this ocurred to you?

Once it was so bad that I had to turn spces off and then I found a bug!! Whenever you turn it off after having used it, Leopard sort of re-enables it so your windows disappear to other spaces but the OS still thinks it's off so you cannot switch spaces.

After a few month's of using spaces I can't imagine life without it. It works great and is fast and keeps me far more organized spaces plus expose is the best combination ever even expose in space helps too.
