spam calls from numbers matching the first 6 digits of my number

Maybe it was Call Control app? I'm using it now on Iphone and there is an option Block similar numbers which will block calls by the first six digits. I've previously used it on Android and it had the same option.

I could swear it had "neighborhood" in the name. I'm glad other apps are adding that functionality.

I have read on the internet that one of the many scams used by these robocalls is focused on recording your voice saying ‘yes’, which they can use as your voice signature for future scams.

Although I've heard of that as well it didn't seem like having a recording of that would really be all that useful.

Have no idea what's going on, but I have been getting one of these calls every 10-15 mins this morning.

At the same time I keep getting emails from my credit monitoring service that my phone number is on the dark web.

Does this mean I should look into getting a new phone number?
