Spam events showing up in calendar

Recently I have been noticing spam events showing up in my calendar app. I've attached a screenshot of the one that popped up this morning, does anyone have any idea where these are coming from and how to stop them?

Same here. And they appear to be open invites, so you can see other people's addresses on the invite as well.

The suggestion of moving the invite to a newly created calendar, that you then delete, works (since you don't need to interact with the invite and let them know your account is active) - but then another shows up an hour later... Hope they fix this soon.

Would there be a problem in creating a new calendar, naming it "Spam", unchecking it and adding the spam invites there.. and just not delete the Spam calendar? If it remains unchecked then it remains invisible, correct? I'm just trying f to see if we can alleviate having to create and delete too many times.

But wouldn't the invite still show as active? That's my annoyance.

I have Calendar set to only show a notification (red) number, when there are 'active' invites waiting to be accepted - and I ain't going to be doing that in a hurry! So without declining the invites, that number grows?? At least, I think that's what would happen?

Don't think so. Seems to be hitting all sorts. I've never been jailbroken.

Hmm, you make a very good point. I'll test this and see, but I rarely get any spam and haven't seen these calendar invites at all thus far. I was hoping to avoid any unnecessary work, but I could be completely wrong. Apple need to add an option for 'silently decline' so the sender has no clue what happened to the invite.

Thanks. Seems to be defaulting to our shared family calendar. Have my daughter on Family Sharing, wouldn't be surprised if this owes its origins to one of her free games about cats/unicorns/musical seashells etc. - with her inadvertently clicking through some in-app ad...
