Hello,

I am new to the forum but a long time reader. I thought since I had a question I would jump on and also help others.

I am using the mail application in OSX 10.7.x, and I keep getting hit with spam on one of my accounts. I have marked them as spam but I think they are rotating addresses and It is still coming thru. Any thoughts on the best spam filer?

Cheers
Shaun

The Mail spam filter must be trained. Marking undesirable messages as "Junk" is part of the process. The whole process usually takes 2-3 weeks. As spammers develop new strategies that prove successful, the Mail spam filter may require additional training. Have you trained Mail's spam filter on your system?

I mark them as junk did not know there was more to training it. Any suggestions how to start?

By marking messages as spam you are training it. Each time you mark as spam it theoretically tells mail to watch for more messages similar to this and mark them as spam.
