There's been an increase in spam lately.

In fact, I think I just received my first "MacRumours email" spam in my Hotmail email (aka: Junk mail) account. I only use it to sign up for things, register at forums I'll never visit again (cough) and other things, so spam is fine. However, it's just something to be aware of.

As long as she's willing to love me long time, and at a good price, who am I to resist?

I'm just bothered by the increase in spam, changing passwords (I'll do it soon ), etc. Emails like this in my Hotmail account do not affect me since I'm not dumb enough to respond.

I just feel a bit violated. She got my email account info from here despite the fact I don't display any information about myself, maybe except my birthday or something. MR Base Camp has been infiltrated.

*looks around suspiciously*

MR Base Camp has been infiltrated.
Lately, as I understand, the Admins have been busy addressing this issue.

I really hate spam senders.

I wish that there was a way spam was like regular mail when you could have it returned to sender charging them for the postal fees. :)

The accounts of Private Message or email spammers are removed, along with any Private Messages they sent, as soon as they are reported to us.

The spammer was able to e-mail you because you have turned on the option to allow users to e-mail you through the forums. We can remove PMs haven't been delivered (once we're aware of the spammer obviously), but we can't do anything to stop the e-mails once they've gone out.

If you'd like to turn off the e-mail option, you can do so at User CP --> Edit Options. In the "Messaging & Notifications" section, uncheck the box next to "Receive Email from Other Members" and click the "Save Changes" button at the bottom of the page.

To be clear they don't actually have your email information, they just used the web form here to send your an email through the forum system.
