So, I'm in the market for a new pair of speakers, monitor speakers to be exact.

I tested a set of monitor speakers at a music store in the city, and I thought they were good, but the price point was shocking. Only 50 bucks.

Now my question is, are speakers that come in a set with one active speaker, and one passive, any good? Do they produce better sound than say, Logitech speakers with a subwoofer?

What other speakers do you guys use that look similar to these? Are they active?

I have two different sets of Logitech speakers with subwoofers, and in both cases the subwoofer is active and all the others are passive. I don't think it's a problem, the passive speaker simply gets its power from the active speaker. Sound quality is the same.
