iPhone X Speaker holes on xS vs X

So I read somewhere that the xS has an uneven amount of speaker holes on the bottom versus the X- anyone know why? Thanks

Well, the holes on the left are pretty ornamental, if I recall. There's a microphone housed in there, no speaker.

There is a new antenna band on the bottom... might have to do with the 4x4 MIMO. The Xr has symmetrical hole layout on the bottom.... and that phone does not have the gigbit LTE.

I thought less holes = IP68 vs more holes = IP67 lol

There seems to be an extra antenna band on the bottom of the XS (or XS Max)... Not as pretty as the X...

How does this affect cases? Surely the cutouts will need changing?
