Speakers Cutting Out

I was just listening to Spotify and noticed that the volume would get really quiet and then back to normal over and over again for a few seconds. Thinking it was just a problem with the streaming or the song, I opened up iTunes to find the same problem when listening to music on my library. It doesn't happen continuously, just randomly.

Any ideas?
