Am I the only one who thinks the iPad Pro speakers are disappointing? There are four speakers and I know they’re small but for some reason I imagined them significantly better than a mobile phone.

having an 11” iPad Pro and 9.7” Pro before that and a few tablets previously, the 11” Pro Speakershaw are quite remarkable, and yet every is improving. Apple really needs to license Dolby Atmos,
heck my Note 10+ has Dolby Atmos and if done properly it’s amazing.

As soon as I heard Dolby Atmos last year I immediately bought a Dolby Atmos reciever and 4 ceiling based speakers. Sound is more critical than a 4K TV

Yep I’m definitely looking at some myself.

The 12.9 has a nice full sound. Even the low end on this sounds really rich which I’ve never experienced on a tablet device.

The latest iPad Pros support Dolby atmos on iOS 13. I tried it the other day with an iTunes movie and it’s pretty damn cool a tablet can do this stuff.

Really ? I did not see anywhere mentioned that after the iPad OS even the 2018 iPad Pros now support Dolby Atmos. Which specific content did you try on ITunes ?

I would try Spider-Man FarFrom Home bought form the iTunes Store, it has every modern possible Feature.

4K HDR Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision and more.

yes hmm maybe I’m comparing too much to my MacBook Pro 15‘
I heard a reviewer say the gen 3 iPad Pro speakers were actually louder and more full sounding than the MacBook line.
I know my iPad’s speakers are a solid 10 out of 10. Its louder and has better bass than my iMac, iPhones, iPods, and my Sony 900E 4K tv speakers.

does the newer 15” MBPs have improved tweeters and subwoofers in them?

May one point back in 2016 someone claimed the 12” MacBook had better speakers than the 13” and 15” ones. Hmmm 🤔 or am I completely insane. lol

When 12" MacBook came out there was no MBP redesign yet, and yes the 12" MB sounded much better than the MBP at the time

They're nice for separation, but for clarity, bass etc they're terrible. That's what bluetooth headphones are for though.

Have you gone into settings > sounds and tried different EQ settings?

It’s all about perspective. While they are not going to match a decent stand-alone BT speaker (12.9 iPP is better than some I’ve heard btw ;) they are’ however, arguably the best sounding speakers on any tablet device currently available. I bemoan Apple far too frequently but even I have to concede that the sound on the iPP (particularly 12.9) is nothing short of exceptional imho.
