One of the things holding me back from getting an XDR (besides cost!) is the lack of integrated speakers. I don’t need any amazing sound, just serviceable sound for UI effects, the random YouTube video, etc.

I was hoping by now that someone would’ve developed a matching soundbar or attachable left/right speakers, akin to what Logitech did with the XDR-specific webcam.

what are people using with their display? Is there any single USB speaker solution that is unobtrusive and matches the aesthetic of the display?

I am using KEF LSX Wireless.
They don't use USB C unfortunately, however I did buy a very tiny USB C adapter with AUX out and additional USB C port (charge only unfortunately). They also support AirPlay, Bluetooth and even Spotify Connect.

They aren't very cheap but I think they look premium enough to compliment a setup with XDRs. I attached a (slighty outdated) photo of my setup with them.

I face a similar issue. Thankfully the 16" MacBook Pro speaker is one of the better integrated speakers from Apple, so I get by with them. I used to have pro studio monitors and an interface but got tired of all the wire clutter and took it down. Most of the time I'm using my new AirPods Max. For the price of the display, its honestly too bad they didn't include a FaceTime camera and integrated speaker as just icing on the cake, making it the ultimate dock/setup.

Overall though, I'm incredibly happy with my XDR. I also sprang for the matching magnetic logi cam.

The logi camera is pretty good, but the software for it is crap. Settings are never saved and they reset on their own all the time :/

The logi cam is great as it’s designed to magnetically attach. The other poster mentions software that I’ve never needed or used. The camera just works.

Duh i was just about to buy that one, do you know which others fit the XDR?
The logi 4k pro is specifically designed for it so I wouldn’t get anything else. It works well, the only thing that is annoying is if you use the camera settings app for it. But it’s not a deal beaker IMO

Got the camera today and it did work, I downloaded the Settings app available for the newer 4k cameras (Oct 27) release and it did save the settings. What surprised me though is that is doesn't attach to the side of the XDR, only a specific area on the top of the display.

Good to know, maybe there’s a software update that I missed.

I was also surprised to find out that not all sides are magnetic. I was hoping different magnetic accessories would be attachable to the display, could be cool IMO.

I paired with the HD6 speakers from AudioEngine and their S8 Woofer. Sounds great! I was using their D1 - 24 Bit DAC but ended up switching to the Direct Out on the MacBook Pro. I can't tell the difference anymore even with my nice open back Sennheisers.
