I have this system: http://www.smalldog.com/product/35624/atfgc

It plugs into a computer via a headphone jack. It doesn't work with my new mac pro. Works fine with my powerbook.

All sounds are just coming out of the mac pro speakers, which are terrible.

Any ideas?

Errr, apparently that wasn't a headphone jack on the back...but audio out. Works fine on the front, but I'd rather plug it in on the back (otherwise ugly cable on front), anyway I can do that with an adapter or such?

I have the same speakers on my Mac Pro. They are connected to the audio out jack on the back of the Mac Pro. Did you select "Line Out" in the sound preference panel?

System Preferences --> Sound --> Output --> Select "Line Out"

Works on my Klipsch speakers, sounds great too.

Perfect! That fixed it, thank you VERY much. :)

And yeah, great speakers. My system is looking pretty sweet right now.

I just left the balance at middle, seems to be coming out in stereo properly.
