I'm looking for some good speakers for my mac. I don't want to spend more than $70. I would be fine with going used if they sounded good still. I want a system with a sub. Any recommendations on which ones i should get and where to buy?

On my Mac Pro, I use the Harman Kardon SoundSticks II. Although they are a bit more expensive ($169 USD), they sound amazing! I give them a very high rating indeed! On the Apple Store, they are rated 4.5 out of 5.0 with 370 reviews. The SoundSticks II include a large subwoofer as well, so you get a lot for your money.

By compliment do you mean whispering sweet nothings into its ear and commenting on shoes and makeup?

Well I wasn't going to be so pedantic as to point it out, but whatever.

OP; the word is complement* Just so you know for next time :)

I have the soundsticks (version 1) and highly recommend them as well. Great sound and easily loud enough to fill most spaces. They look great too, IMO. The current version is even better than what I have because you dont't lose a usb port.

There is a contrast between your request for good speakers and $70 limit.

For your budget you can buy cute speakers or cheap speakers but audiophiles that wish to offer suggestions may find it difficult to offer good speaker choices. Nevertheless, searching merely for price, here's a suggestion.
