Speakers with Air?

I had a 2.1 speaker system hooked up to my old windows desktop before i got my new air today, my first mac and first laptop. the speakers plugged into my desktop with the green and pink colored jacks at the end of the cords. clearly, these are not on a macbook air, just a headphone jack. So will these speakers work with my air at all?

Seriously? You've never heard of adapters that can transform one type of plug into another? (e.g. RCA to headphone plugs)
 
yes i know what adapters are
i just didn't know if i needed one or could just plug one of the two cords into the headphone jack...
but since you're so smart what kind of adapter do i need?
is it called like pink and green to macbook air headphone jack adapter?
