Hi,

I am looking for some inexpensive powered speakers that have a S/PDIF input, ideally with the following specification:

* optical S/PDIF input (TOSlink or Photolink)
* Inexpensive (ideally <$70 or <£50)
* 2.1 configuration
* Look good next to a Mac mini
* Available in the UK

Any suggestions or recommendations?

SPDIF stands for Sony Philips Digital InterFace.
Its the same thing as digital audio through coaxial cable.

Some of the Logitech top end 5.1 sets have TOSLink in and a control pod with the decoding circuitry for 5.1.

The only S/PDIF in speakers I know off the top of my head are some Edirol and Roland studio monitors. I've only ever seen this type in professional . studio settings.

A speaker with digital inputs will have to have its own amplifier and digital/analog conversion built in, of course.
