I have a 2010 Macbook Pro And I want some speakers that would go good with my HDTV for watching movies. I would prefer a system that has surround sound like the logitech z-5500 but bigger/better. I am looking to spend no more than $500 (Yeah Right:rolleyes:) I am open to all suggestions including wall and celling speakers.

Yeah, I'd definitely look at a decent HTIB (I have an old JBL that, until recently when i blew the speakers, was awesome). Check out ones from companies that specialize in audio gear (JBL, Yamaha, etc.) not just the ones from major electronics manufacturers.

Ever considered slowly piecing a sweet system together a bit at a time? That's probably the best way to get great sound, albeit not immediately. Ex. start with a Denon or Pioneer (or insert your brand of preference) receiver and a couple cheap speakers, then later on add a couple nice floor speakers for a 2.0, then a sub down the road, then a couple more speakers... center channel... you get the idea.
