You obviously don't realize how slow BlueTooth is. 1 Mbps. That means a 5 MB file would take 40 seconds to download. 40 seconds for 1 song.

Streaming is the key word. Imagine the bus or classroom.

Hell yeah, Bluetooth in an iPod would be great. NOT for transfering MP3s or anything like that, but for wireless headphones, syncing contacts/calendar with a Bluetooth enabled computer, PDA, or cell phone, and best of all, a Bluetooth remote (with a small display).

See my posts in the iPod peripheral thread about the Bluetooth watch 🙂

I have it on very reliable sources (i.e., my aunt's best friend's next door neighbor's mailman's mistress's step-son) that the special announcement tomorrow will be a dual processor XPod--that's right, a fully configured music file server so you can connect it to the Internet and allow all the downloading of music files that you want. The slogan: "10,000,000 songs on your web site."

I understand the RIAA was unhappy about this move until they entered the perimeter of Steve's Reality Distortion Field and then they sat back and smiled and hugged each other and understood that all was good and right with the Universe.

Yeah, right... 😀

Maybe the Special Edition iPod will have battery life comparable to that of a Minidisc player. 🙄

Man, with ThinkSecret's excellent track record I thought for certain it was gonna happen. But from ThinkSecret is sounds like they have assurance that the LE iPods are out there but are stunned why Apple didn't release them. The only other time I think Apple would release such a product in the near future would have to be MWSF04. I was about to buy a new 40GB last week but when I read the article I figured I could wait just another day longer, but now I don't know whether to wait some more or just give in an buy one now. On the supposed iPod accessories and software update, it seems like there is a good chance that this will appear in the next weeks. But the most likely situation is that Jobs might do a press conference similar to the one in April, in mid-October to announce the iTMS for Windows, and possibly even through out there the availabilty of new accessories and a software update at time as well. Anyways, just my thoughts.

maybe the SE iPod will arrive at the beginning of November, marking the 2 year anniversary of the industry beating music machine.

I just ordered my 40 gig... I can't imagine Apple screwing people by releasing a better version a week after they announced the 40... but who knows... I'll be pissed if they do.

Would agree that either in November or October that the special edition is released, marking the release of the iTunes Music Store for Windows or the anniversary of the iPod. Special Editions need a Special Reason after all. 🙄

... just thinking about the improvements made within the last year on the iPod. I bought mine this time last year, a 20 GB. What a difference a year makes. By this time next year will we see the 60 or 80 GB iPod? What kind of software improvements will be made? I'd love to see the ability to dump your digital photos onto the iPod - VERY convienant for photographers. And the ability to delete tracks - in case you come across a bad track (or at the very least, marking tracks to be deleted once synced to the computer). In fact, this "marking songs" idea could be taken forward quite a bit. Will the iPod add peripherals due to customer demand/a new idea like cell phones did by adding camera features? How will Apple continue it's niche market place with a product that sells so successfully, especially now that Pee-Cee users can purchase one? And how much longer before I have to read about when the next PowerBook is coming out?!?!? Good Grief!! All that time and anticipation for a few added features and speed bump.... JEEZ. 😉

... oh yeah ... AND MORE APPLESCRIPT INTEGRATION!!! Let us customize our iPods, please Apple!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When you're in the Now Playing screen just push the center button a few times and set the rating to 1 star, then when you sync just sort your MP3s by Rating and delete the ones with 1 star.

Not quite what you're looking for, but close 😀
