I have a friend that's a developer. I'm checking to see if he got one of these. If he did, and doesn't want it, I will buy it through him and use it until my SG Sport finally arrives.

I'm ok with that (easy to say since I'm in the first group 4/24-5/8) but if it speeds up development of new and unique ways to use the watch it is a good thing.

Not really. If they're prioritizing developers, then there has to be a shortage. If not, devs could just go to an Apple Store and pick one up.

I hope that's true - especially if there's extra Sport Watches and blue bands laying around. I have the 42mm Sport with blue band on order with a delivery date of 5/13-5/27..Would love if there are more than enough and can be shipped early but I'm guessing that's very wishful thinking.

I got the email and was at first sceptical that it was a phishing scam but it seems to come from Apple. I have a watch on order in the first batch so I don't need it.

I am glad they are doing it as there are probably developers who have spent months working on a watch app but who missed out on the first batch because they were a minute or two too late in ordering and their apps will be delayed as a result.

I am a developer but haven't received a email. Going to https://developer.apple.com/watch/order/ gives me a "Sorry, you don't have access". However on that 9to5mac link, they were saying that some developers who didn't get the email were able to register.

All that to say, if you are developer and you didn't get a email, give that link a try anyway

We got it and registered for it. Even if you get the email, there is no guarantee you win. It's just a chance to get it. My black SG is second batch so hopefully get this one and have it next week.
