Special program or way to automate a task

Hi, I'm looking for a program or a way that can automate the following task:

I have a downloaded folder with mixed types of files (.jpg and .ttf), I would like to separate them and put them in different folders, but there are hundreds of them and it's time consuming. Does anybody know how to do this?

Use Automator and/or Folder Actions. Both are part of OS X.

I use Automator & Folder Actions as well as Hazel

Combined together they can be very powerful tools for automatically sorting files and folders that meet certain criteria into different places.
