Speck Candyshell versus Otterbox Commuter

Which of these 2 cases offers the better protection?

I'd say both offer very good protection however it's a little more in favor of the Commuter. The Candyshell is a nice case however it's known to have an issue with the rubber flaking off as well as the case being a scratch magnet.

have both and love them. They both offer good shock absorption, but in terms of overall protection (ports,etc) i'll give the edge to the Otterbox.

In regards to drop protection it seems like candy shell offers better however with covering of ports etc the Otterbox.

yea i suppose since the phone is so tightly packed in the speck case.

with the new,wider opening with the black surround....havent experienced any flash issues.

Haven't heard of any either if you get the newest design.

you should be fine if you get the new design. to be honest i think both of these cases have some flaws and i would look around and makesure you get something thats going to hold up.
