Have you guys seen this? Looks cool to me, i cant wait for the pixelskin to be released. I talked to the speck cs today and they did not know when they will be released or didnt want to tell me but at the end of this video it says it will be available april 2012. I did ask if pixelskin for ipad 2 fits the new ipad and they said yes, they tested it, fits fine.

any tips on removing the smartshell from the ipad? I tried on an ipad 2 version and i dont like that the middle back part pops up slightly. going to return this but cannot for the life of me remove it! pls help :(

nevermind got it!..that was tough..i replaced it with the belkin snap shield (for ipad 2) so much easier to put on and take off, love that its more gray/smoke than the smartshell which was more black :)

I have a Pixelskin HD wrap on my ipad 3 right now and love it. I would definitely buy another if they update it to support on/off function.

I just picked up one of these. Made specifically for iPad 2 but a nice tight fit on the 3. I took a bit of time, patience and a broken nail to get this case on and get the screen protector settled down. I was actually nervous that this wouldn't work with the protector but its actually fine. I agree that I would purchase another if it made the wake/sleep version work but that's not a deal breaker for me.

My only question is - does the suction strip hold its grip long term? The website says it works as long as you keep it clean. What have you used for cleaning?

Oh, I'm not the Speck employee, haha. I was the person Speck responded to on the Facebook wall.
And don't call me April. ;)

Holds long term, yes. I've had my PS HD since iPad 2 release and it's same as new.

The only time I've cleaned it was when I put it on the 3 -- water & a rag.

Here is a video review of fitfolio on the new ipad. if you are not sure how it fits the new ipad, check this video.

I love this case. it is very functional yet very professional with high quality.
one thing I notice is that bottom left corner on the back is exposed and not covered by the case to allow heat escape. this helps cool the ipad when it is in landscape stand mode.

Does the on/off feature work on iPad 3 with current gen fit folio. I am thinking to jump and get this. I can't take my iPad on the road until I can protect the damn screen. Yes, I am way too paranoid.

No, that is the only thing that can make the Fitfolio close to perfect. Hopefully the new Fitfolio for ipad 3 includes this smart feature.

I got tired of waiting for the FitFolio, so I bought a very similar case from Devicewear called The Ridge. The things I noticed that were different from my FitFolio for iPad 2 was:

1) It did not have the cutaway backing. This might add a tiny bit of weight, but I cannot tell by holding them both. I prefer the whole back of the iPad to be covered anyway.

2) It is a magnetic closure and it is friggin awesome! The thing I hated most about the Speck was the little thread closure. This works just like the smart covers.

3) The "ridge" and tab that fits into the grooves is a little wider than the Speck an I think it is a little sturdier because of it.

Here is a youtube video I made per the request of a different thread.

By any chance if you know the iPad Camera Connection Kit will fit with this case?

Thanks

Fitfolio for ipad 2 fits the new ipad

Hi Guys,

After reading some of the comments on this thread, I decided to buy the fitfolio for the ipad2 and give it a try on my new ipad. I found it at Winners (Canadian store, I guess like Target) for $16.99 and it fits perfectly fine, even the automatic on and off works.

As someone said, I started with the right side, and then clicked the left side. No over pressure needed or forcing, you can't tell it was not made for the new ipad. My 2¢

Hey i am thinking of getting a speck case, has anyone bought one yet i am interested to see how they hold up. I am looking at this one. Anyone know where i can find them cheaper?
