Go into Apple store and they will swap your phone with a new one once they see the issue. Since you just got the phone they’d prolly let you exchange if they have stock.

Apple can open the phone and clean the camera glass in store without replacing the phone now..
No not with the iPhone X or the new phones as well. From what I’ve experienced they give you a replacement device.

They can do it on the X and newer phones too. Not sure if they do it everywhere but, others have had it done in store and posted about it.. Once the screen is off, removing the rear cameras is not hard at all. Couple of blasts from a can of dust off and put it back together..

No, they no longer issue replacements anymore. Apple has the tools and training necessary to disassemble the iPhone and clean behind the camera lens cover. This was implemented mid last year when they were able to make this change, as it cost the company a significant amount of money just to do exchanges for dust behind the camera lens cover.

If I bought a new Ferrari, and there was a scratch on the door, do you think this would impact my experience?

The correlation between a phone and a car are not mutually exclusive. That Member was suggesting as long as the dust does not affect the integrity of the photos from the camera, then for some it doesn’t matter if the dust is there or not. To each their own really.

They are both luxury goods that cost significantly more than other brands with comparable spec. I don’t think it’s too much for perfection (or near perfection) to be included in the price tag, especially for aesthetic manufacturing flaws.
Don’t know if I could be bothered to do the replacement process for a speck of dust personally, it would depend how much it annoyed me, but don’t try and sell me no Rolex with dust behind the glass.

That's fair. If the dust didn't show up in the picture I'm not sure how tweaked I'd be about it. But I certainly wouldnt think it's excessive if someone else wanted the dust out.

Never said anything about cars. I Just asked how that dust would manifest in a way that impacts the operation of the camera and or phone.

I’m assuming that op noticed it while taking a picture or. Keep. If OP could post an example it could be useful to other members of the community no also received a new phone this week.

Can dust make one corner of your photos blurry? I think I have this problem on my 8 Plus. I’m trading it in anyway, but just curious if that may be the cause of the blurriness/lack of focus in one corner of all my recent shots.

I tried cleaning the glass with a microfiber cloth but that did nothing. I can see a little speck inside the glass.

Oh okay, good to know. Just stating from what I’ve experienced.

Give it a good tap on your thigh to attempt to dislodge it to the edge of the phone. If that doesn't work get it exchanged.
