I just purchased an i5/256/8gb gold MacBook. I have used Speck before for phone cases and love them. But with this MacBook being fanless and having an i5, wanted to see if my heating concerns were warranted before buying the case. Has anyone had the m5 or m7 model from previous years and used the hard shell case?

Speck See Thru Casses with use with i5 MB?

I'm in the same position. I have sworn by Speck Candyshell cases for my iPhones over the years (and converted several people along the way). I'm looking to get a rose gold MB, so I'm a bit nervous about it scratching and want to get a clear case to hopefully guard against everyday scratches. The first brand that I looked at was Speck but it doesn't seem to have had great reviews (I've read several about it cracking).
Other brands that I'm now looking at are Mosiso, Incipio Feather and Moshi. Maybe these might be helpful to look at? Does anyone have any experience with any of these three brands/cases?

Since that thread I have stopped using the Moshi case. Only because once the sense of newness had worn off I wanted to enjoy the MacBook as Apple meant us to. I take it everywhere with me and it hasn't a mark on it six months of heavy use later.
Also the Moshi obstructed the USB-C port when using one of these adapters. I successfully trimmed the Moshi a small amount to avoid this.
If you do want to use a case, Moshi are the best IME of all major and some minor brands. But they are all inclined to crack in the corners.
No idea why that has all come out as a link, but hopefully you can sort it out!
