hi, im pretty new to using a mac but does anyone know how to retrieve the speech feedback window icon? i've seemed to lost mine somehow and it no longer is displayed when i start my laptop? now im unable to use the speech features? please help anyone?

Do you mean that you've turned off Speakable Items?

You can access its settings in System Preferences --> Speech.

I have the opposite problem

How do you get RID of that little Speech Feedback control panel? It's been driving me nuts for an hour now! 😕

System Preferences --> Speech --> Speech Recognition.

Turn Speakable Items off. It may take a few seconds, but the feedback window should just disappear.

Well....
