Hi! I use MacBook Pro 14" M1 with Huawei MateView monitor. Unfortunately, speech recognition works only until I disconnect the notebook. After reconnecting it stops working. F5 button works, it gives me feedback sound, shows screen picture with microphone, but that's all—no voice recognition performed. But it works from the notebook. Not works only from external monitor and only after second connection. What's wrong, how to fix? The latest macOS, the latest Huawei MateView firmware. I reported this problem via Apple's feedback section—as usual, they keep silence.

Have you tried changing the sound input to the MacBook Pro built in microphone? Maybe the monitor doesn't have a microphone or it's not compatible?

Mr. @russell_314, it works for the first time but stop working after re-connecting the notebook. The sound input source is always set to external monitor.

I’m not sure if I understood you correctly, but when you disconnect an audio input source, the system goes to the next and it might not automatically switch back to the previous one when reconnected.

The system stays correctly connected to the monitor input source. It does not switch to internal mic. So it is not an issue here. Monitor’s mic is also working well even after reconnection (if try to record i.e. in QuickTime).

You can try to restart corespeechd from Terminal
Code:
launchctl kickstart -k gui/501/com.apple.corespeechd

This command successfully works. Thank you very much, a very good solution as a temporary measure. I guess I'll have to script something to make it run automatically.
