Speech to Text recognition?

alright i know macs can do text to speech, but what about speech to text? is there any function that would be able to convert what you say into text?
That would be neato.

except iListen. That costs money. Which i dont have.

Only the simplest is available for free. Check out the Speech Recognition available through System Preferences.

Anything else I've seen costs money.
