Hi, I have this voice recognition enabled, but it does not work. I hold "esc" and say "what time is it?" and then let go of the button. It shows that voice is going into a mic, but nothing happens. Why? (My computer is a Mac Pro 10.5 )
Thanks
Kousha

The speech recognition built into Mac OS X is terrible. I don't think it's been updated much since Mac OS 8 (1997-ish) and uses old technology.

?? Have you tried it? It works decently, and it has definitely been updated since the Classic OS days. Actually it works quite decently.

You don't hold the ESC key, just press once, after 20 seconds you'll have to press again. And depending on the option you have setup you might have to say the Computer's name first. "computer, what time is it?".

It does not work!
I press ESC once, and then say "What time is it" (I have checked off the "computer" thing), and then nothing happens. And I did what you said; pressed it once, said "What time is it?" and pressed it again 20seconds afterwards. but nothing happens!
