speed on 17" MBP C2D always at 2.33ghz?

Is this normal? I mean, the processor is supposed to speed down while doing basic stuff isn't it?
I checked this with Core2DuoTemp.app and it always show im running at 2.33ghz

BTW my battery runs for 2:30 to 3:00 hours

This is normal. You can choose to decrease processor performance by changing pref's in system pref/energy saver for battery mode.

I think i found the problem and it was CoreDuoTemp.app itself as it install a kernel extension by speedit

to solve the problem i did this:

cd /System/Library/Extensions
sudo kextunload speedit.kext
sudo rm -R speedit.kext

And thats it, my battery life raised from 2:30-3:00 to 4:00-4:15 hours
