Speed test between EDGE and a mock 3G connection

Came across this video on youtube. The guy compared the amount of time it took for:
-an iPhone to load a webpage on EDGE
vs.
-an iPhone to load a webpage on 3G HSDPA via Wi-Fi, using a Huawei e172 hsdpa modem connected to an iMac with internet sharing enabled by airport.

The mock-3G iPhone loaded the page in almost half the speed of the EDGE iPhone.

Interesting. Hopefully this is a good indicator of things to come.
