Found this interesting.

iPad Pro performed as expected, but surprisingly the original iPad held its own.

That's a geek dream come true. Super awesome. Unlocking them all in one swipe is the best thing, basically ever.

That's mainly because iOS 7+ is very inefficient compared to everything before it. Up to today I get annoyed by the "back to home" animation that seems to take forever on iOS 7+. If you compare it with an iOS 6- device, iOS 6 does it so fast.

I know iOS needed to add more features, but I sorely miss the absolute UI responsiveness that used to be present in iOS 6 and everything before it.
 
It really does show how under-powered the iPad 3 was when it came out. Definitely understand the need for the quick 6 month update to the iPad 4.
