Is there any possible way to speed up IPhone 4S cellular speed without Jailbreak? I am on Verizon and IOS 6.1.3 and have super slow 3G.

The ping is about right, but the transfer speeds are poor. Your tower may be congested and there's likely nothing wrong with your phone.

Thanks I am looking into upgrading to the IPhone 5S/6 (whatever they end up calling it) when it is released later this year. This way I will have 4GLTE

That's about what I used to have on Verizon here in Denver and that was on a good day. It averaged about 0.00 the rest of the time. AT&T was about the same for me.

I hate 3G...To think we thought this was so fast a few years ago.

A VPN service won't help. There just isn't room in the airwaves for more speed for your phone.

Unfortunately the 4S is crippled by Verizon's CDMA network because they can't use HPSA+ like a lot of GSM networks have.

I personally have a 4S on Verizon and if I were to ever recommend an iPhone to anyone it would be a Verizon iPhone 5 or GSM 4S or newer.

Are these decent results:

Ping:139ms Download:0.68Mbps Upload:0.82Mbps

I'm sorry, did you mean to say you use Sprint's 3G network, or are you really on Verizon?

In all seriousness, you should consider switching to ATT if you want good data speeds. Sure, AT&T has draconian policies, but so does Verizon.

I don't know I have a 4s on sprint and my 3G isn't too terrible probably tower congestion if u complain then at least complain to your carrier
They can actually help you

Depends on the bottleneck but even a JB won't help in most cases. You need to determine what's causing your poor speed. If it's the carrier's network then nothing you do on your phone will help. The chain is only as fast as the slowest link.

I'm definitely on Verizon

I had the worst speeds with Verizon on a 4S. AT&T was also garbage on a 4S. Finally on T-mobile, I have amazing speeds I can used for the first time in 6 years of iPhones.

This is the dumbest thread. Modifying the phone obviously isn't going to make the network magically faster. DUH! Get an iPhone 5 if your iPhone 4S is too slow.
