Hi all,

Is anyone using this pref in mozilla to speed up loading/using sites?
In the last few days I've been "fixing" some sites that generate some high loads in ArcticFox
that uBlock and uMatrix wont fix without crippling their functionality using this method.
As anyone tried it?

Best regards,
voidRunner

Yes, I've been using it for 3 years since FoxBoxes were introduced - handy for mobile site versions. ArcticFox also has the benefit of being able to use site specific user agents too so it will switch to different agents as you browse.

Hi Drone,

One of the things i'm trying to do is to upen youtube
But with articfox I'm always getting like 30/40 % cpu ( DLSD 1.67ghz ) just by opening the site
and after loading the complete page.
In TenFourFox this doesn't happen.
Also I'm using ViewTube which allows me to play videos in webm format which work
with both Iceweasel and ArcticFox but for some reason in IceWeasel I have the webm option
for video with audio but in ArcticFox only the MP4 option is avaliable.

Any ideas?

ArcticFox automatically selects an Android device user agent when browsing to Youtube - maybe that's making Youtube make different files available? Youtube changes so often I do lose track ;)
@wicknix probably has the definitive answer.

Off the top of my head, no idea really. It could just be a different UA resulting in a different YouTube format as mentioned. I'll have to boot tiger/leopard some time and fiddle with it. (I've been in Linux mode as of late)

Cheers

Hi wick,

It's very strange because in Iceweasel I get the webm format available but in TFF FP16
only MP4 using the same useragent in TFF preferences.
Maybe It's the way Iceweasel is setting the user agent?
