I posted my quick little review in another thread and thought I should post it here in this too on the Glas.TR

I don't have any pictures yet, but I will try to get some up. First thing first, THIS IS NOT 100% SCRATCH RESISTANT TO KEYS. I have 3 scratches on this from my house key. Very light surface scratches and you can feel 1 of them when you run your fingernail across it and under good lighting. This screen protector is amazing. I love how it always looks clean because of the fingerprint resistant quality. You still get some but it's huge improvement. Installation is kinda tricky, one shot and that's all you get. I had to buy 2 because I messed up the first one. Was it worth it? Yes and no. Yes because it's probably the best solution if you want to keep the screen protected without having some awkward plastic film over it. No because unlike it's advertised to be, it's not scratch resistant to keys. At least not 100%. I wish I can put up pictures right now, but my Iphone 5 is my only camera source. I'll try to borrow someone's camera and take a pic. The whole deal about the home button is really subjective. I didn't use the cover they gave me, I didn't need it or want it. I have no problems with the home button without a cover at all. You probably want it if you know you have big fingers, otherwise most people will be more than happy to use without. I like the rounded edges on the glas.tr alot. I didn't try the glas.t so I don't know how it is without the round edges, but having this I wouldn't want it any other way.

Bottom line this is an amazing glass protector. It feels like you don't have anything on which is a huge plus. I just wish they didn't make it seem like it was key scratch proof.

***Update*** checked my case again under a office desk lamp and there's 1 scratch that can catch my fingernail and about 2-3 scratches that can't be felt but can be seen.

I received my Pure today and I totally mucked up the installation, it's probably the most frustrating thing i've attempted in months. I had to re-lift/reapply numerous times due to multiple dust specks getting under the protector. I used painter's tape to try to remove the dust but more kept creeping in no matter what. I even used the steamy bathroom "trick" but it didn't seem to work. Let me tell you, it's hell trying to lift the glass protector back up once it's set on the screen. By the 5th or so time, I decided to just let it be but at this point it was too late. Due to my numerous attempts at reapplying the protector, the adhesive on the top corner and sides weakened and it no longer stuck in those regions. It looked really ugly and unacceptable. Also, even by trying to remove the dust with tape, I still ended up with about 5-6 dust pieces under the protector. I had to get rid of it in the end. :(

Good thing Bodyguardz has the replacement program because otherwise I'd be out of alot of $. I'm sending it back and getting a replacement. Any tips for my next application? I'm thinking next time i'll try a lint roller across the entire screen immediately before I set it.

Yes, the lint roller really helps.

It sounds like you took all the necessary precautions. You just had bad luck. For my install, I just used painter's tape to remove a couple pieces of lint after my first attempt. After that, the install was perfect.

Bodyguardz pure issues

1. I installed the bodyguardz pure on my iphone5 meticulously following all the advice on this forum, and still ended up with weak edges, hazing and weak adhesion around the edges. never touched those parts with my fingertips. disappointed. also, it does show fingerprints quite readily, wondering if the spigen,tr has better smudge resistance. Anyone do head to head comparison?
2. it will fit in speck candyshell grip just barely, the glass is flush with the midsection where the lip is cut lower profile, so no protection there, but the ends of the case are slightly higher, so you have a imm or 2mm lip, just barely lifting the glass from table if you set it down CAREFULLY. I love that case in black white for its retro star wars look. but im nervous about scratching the Pure. You can tell im pretty anal about this if i care about scratching the screen protector.
3. It will not fit in the Casemate Tough with the pure installed, which is a bummer, because i really like that case. May need to go to cases like workmate, or (ugh) otterbox commuter. It fits in ballistic sg case, but that case has really loose loewr lip so im looking for alternatives. Maybe incipio dual pro? or belkin max? anyone try it in belkin sheer?

Try repeatedly going over the edges with a microfiber cloth, putting good pressure with your finger against those areas. At first I had the same issue but I managed to wipe everything to perfection with persistence. I have a 99% perfect install, with 1 speck of dust near the top speaker. I probably could of lifted it back up to remove the dust with tape but I didn't want to risk it.

I have to say i'm really impressed with the Bodyguardz Pure. Like everybody has mentioned, it feels even better than the iPhone 5's glass. It's extremely smooth and buttery and touch sensitivity is completely intact. I switched from a Spigen SGP oleophobic and it's a night and day difference. I wasn't completely satisfied with the Spigen plastic protector because once the oleophobic layer diminished after 1 week, it attracted fingerprints and smudges like crazy and required too much effort to clean. The Pure repels fingerprints/smudges really efficiently and if you happen to leave any greasy/oily residue, it is easily wiped away. I wonder if it's just an initial oleophobic coating that makes it this nice, so I probably need a few weeks with it to comment on it with more certainty, though i'm guessing glass in general is better with smudges than plastic.

The protector leaves about 0.2 - 0.3 mm of space open at the edges, a pretty negligible margin. It should fit any case that doesn't have a lip. I'm using it with great success with my noot case, which only covers the beveled edges.

One suggestion I have for both companies is that they should include a glass home button cutout with the product. Why hasn't SGP or Bodyguardz thought to do this? I'll admit though that the Pure is actually quite thin for a glass protector and the recess it leaves for the home button is not an issue. I also had a spare SGP Ultra Crystal home button protector from the iPhone 4 days and i'm using it in conjunction with the Pure. It works well.

Overall, i'm very satisfied. Went with the Bodyguardz Pure because I managed to get it for cheaper than the Glas.tR...and also because of the lifetime $13 replacements program, which I really needed as I mucked up the first install.

Floss - great minds think alike. I also have the Bodyguardz Pure for my protector and the Noot for my favorite case. I totally love the combination. I have the white phone with the white Noot case. What about you?

Yup, I recognize your name from other threads :). Currently I have a black noot on my black iPhone. I also have a Diztronic and SwitchEasy Tones case. The noot is my favorite out of the 3. These have all been temporary cases in anticipation for the Power Support Air Jacket, which actually just got released. I'm gonna pick it up in solid black tomorrow, we'll see how I like it compared to the noot.

I look forward to hearing about the Power Support case. My only concerns are that others report that it is not all that scratch proof.

Which one has better finger print resistent properties?
Which one is easier to install?

Thanks!

I think they are both fairly fingerprint resistant. I usually put a little Granite Gold polish on a microfiber cloth and polish my screen protectors. You would think it would make them more prone to smudging and fingerprints but it actually makes them even more slippery and reduces fingerprints. Lasts a week or so. Can't beat it.

I just finished installing the BG Pure, and I must say, it wasn't as hard as it seemed. The posts here make it seem like you need surgical precision.

Dust and lint is another problem though, and it depends on your situation really.

I didn't even do anything fancy. I just put down the naked iPhone on a piece of paper, and turned off the heater to minimize airflow during installation. Used the provided cloth to clean out screen.

Removed the bottom layer and gently placed it on the screen. Then I just used my fingers to align the Pure by pushing it sides accordingly. It did take a fair amount of pressure and you can see it moving slightly. After I thought it was aligned, I applied pressure on the center which went on to "seal" the protector.

It feels and looks amazing! And I don't know how it compares to the Glas.TR, but I chose the pure because I had a 50% off code, and the advantage program. I had a $8 SGP giftcard but the Pure seemed more cost effective now and in the long run because of the replacement program.

BG also has a 30% off program which anyone can use. (https://www.facebook.com/BodyGuardz/app_208195102528120) So see if you can get a code, and if you do, get the Pure because it really is worth it!

Edit: Forgot to mention, I use a SGP Slim Armor, and it fits perfectly. Ample distance between the protector and the cover.
