I just purchased the Spigen Ultra Hybrid clear case, two of them in case one gets yellow quickly. I like it! Very much and feels more sturdier than the Apple Leather case.

My biggest concern, is taking off the case because soon I will need to swap out to a different SIM card in order to put it in the SIM tray slot.

I have an iPhone 12 Mini. Are these hard to actually take off?

What corners should I work my way out to take off the case?

No!! These cases are meant to be permanently on. If you want to change case, then throw away what you have now and get a brand new phone…and then get the case of your choice.

Apple has an indicator on the side of phone to detect if you’re trying to remove the case. If you try and remove it, then it will send signal back to Apple and they will brick your phone for tampering.

I use the Ultra Hybrid and the leather case. I switch between them all the time. It's easy to take off. Just start with any corner.

Been using Ultra Hybrids as well as the Apple leather cases. The clear case yellowed after about 6-8 months so I replaced it with the flat black version(with clear back) and this one won't yellow so it looks great after 6 months. As far as taking it off, start at the camera cutout and work your way around from there..

Wouldn’t the camera lens pick up fingerprints if accidentally the lens is touched when starting from the camera cut out?

As far as yellowing, that’s why I got two of the Spigen all clear case if my current one yellows up. I just like the all clear ones, but that’s just me.

I wouldn't use Spigen cases at all - although very thin, they yellow extremely quickly, and then look terrible.
I have been using a 'Supcase' clear with my iPhone 11 Pro Max since new (only case I've ever used on the handset for the coming on 2 years now) and its still completely clear with no yellowing at all to this day.
Will be upgrading to the iPhone 13 when released and buy another SupCase clear for that too!

This is the one (for the 12, but have the same on my 11) : https://www.amazon.co.uk/SupCase-Un...e+pro+iphone+12+pro+max&qid=1625648799&sr=8-5

Well, thanks for the tip. But I’ll stick with the Spigen for now. Since I keep my phone 99% of the time in my pocket when I’m on the go, then maybe they won’t get yellow that quickly. I like it, it gives it more of an elegant look to it, other than being a fingerprint magnet, but I can wipe it down, no huge problem.

I liked the Apple Leather cases, but having paid about $60, and the corner of the case kept popping out every time I pulled it out from my pocket, I think the Spigen or even the SupCase, are much higher quality for lesser price.

But this has had me distrust on getting future Apple Leather cases…

I’m beginning to wonder that this Apple leather case issue just effects the iPhone 12 series phones. Don’t know. But as I try to remember when I had the iPhone 10s the Apple leather case wasn’t a problem.

That’s the other thing…fingerprints are permanent on iPhones. Once you touch camera lens, you’re screwed. The fingerprints will destroy camera performance forever. Eventually the fingerprints will spread like COVID and the other lenses will have fingerprints too! Apple terms it as “finger fever” and Apple Care does not cover such phone illness. The only remedy is throw your phone away and get a new one. It says so in Apple documents.

Honestly, you’re making me laugh really hard😁😁😁👌

You can just tell from my past threads that maybe I’m overly OCD, over compulsive disorder 😁😁😁

Just trying to provide tender loving care for my phone.

The reason you start at the camera cutout is because it's way more flexible at that point and avoids having to use a lot of force to get the case off. Not sure if you noticed but the case fit is tight. Also Spigen actually recommends starting at the camera cutout in their literature... As far as fingerprints on the lense, a 70% isopropyl alcohol pad followed by a microfiber cloth will take care of that..
